Ultraschall in der Medizin / European Journal of Ultrasound publishes scientific papers and contributions on the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of ultrasound, with an emphasis on clinical application. Technical papers with a physiological theme and studies on interactions between ultrasound and biological systems may be considered when translational relevance is high and links to clinical applications are strong. The journal also accepts letters and comments and welcomes supplementary video material.

Abstract Abstracts must be provided in both English and German. Each abstract must not exceed 1700 characters including spaces per language. Abstracts must be non-structured.
Manuscript Manuscript length must not exceed 34,000 characters including spaces. The manuscript submission must include titles in English and German, three to five English keywords, and a declaration of generative AI use.
References A maximum of 50 citations is allowed. References must follow Vancouver style. References must be cited in the text with Arabic numerals in square brackets and listed in order of appearance.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be uploaded separately from the main text in ScholarOne. Figure legends must be entered during file upload rather than in the Word manuscript, and all tables must be uploaded together as one Word file.

Case Reports must be presented as short communications structured as Introduction, case description, and discussion. Case Reports must not include keywords, must enter "n/a" in the keyword submission field, and may include up to 3 catchword phrases at the end in English and German, or in English only if the authors do not know German.
References Case Reports may include up to 5 references integrated into the text in brief form. Case Reports must not include a reference list at the end of the text.
