Original Articles

Cover Letter A covering letter or unblinded title page file must be submitted. Cover letter must include statements on conflicts of interest, source of funding, author approval and authorship compliance, honest work, corresponding author contact details if not in the manuscript, and any previous publication or presentation.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3000 words. Manuscript must be divided into Abstract, Key-words, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, and Figure legends. Manuscript must include 3 to 8 keywords below the abstract and disclose any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies.
References References must not exceed 30. References must follow the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited as superscript Arabic numerals in square brackets after punctuation, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations where applicable, and list the first six authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 5. Tables must be included in the blinded article file at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded as separate files. Tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and each table must have a brief title.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A covering letter or unblinded title page file must be submitted. The covering letter must state redundant or related submissions, funding and conflicts of interest, all authors’ approval and honest-work attestation, and the corresponding author’s contact details if not given in the manuscript.
Abstract A nonstructured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be nonstructured. Abstract must include the literature search method.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 4000 words. Manuscript must include a section describing the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data. Provide 3 to 8 keywords below the abstract, include an AI-use disclosure when generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used, and accompany the manuscript with a short summary of the contributors’ work done in the review field.
References References must not exceed 90. References must be numbered consecutively in Vancouver-style citation. Citations must use Arabic numerals in superscript square brackets after punctuation, journal titles must follow Index Medicus abbreviations, and journal references must list the first six contributors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 8. Tables must be included at the end of the blinded article file after the references, while images must be uploaded as separate files and figure legends included at the end of the article file. Tables with more than 10 columns and 25 rows are not acceptable, and figure legends must be no more than 40 words.

Case Reports

Cover Letter A covering letter or unblinded title page file must be submitted. The covering letter must include statements on redundant publication, conflicts of interest, author approval and authorship compliance, honest work, corresponding author contact details if not in the manuscript, previous publication or presentations, source of funding, and signatures from all contributors.
Abstract A nonstructured abstract is required for Case Reports. The abstract must not exceed 100 words. The abstract must be nonstructured. No mandatory abstract headings are specified.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 1200 words. The manuscript must follow the format Abstract, Key-words, Introduction, Case History, Discussion, and References. The manuscript must include 3 to 8 keywords below the abstract, and any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed with the tool used and how it was used.
References The manuscript must not exceed 10 references. References must follow the ICMJE Uniform Requirements style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited as superscript Arabic numerals in square brackets after punctuation, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations for indexed journals, and list the first six contributors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables The manuscript must not exceed 3 figures and/or tables. Tables must be included at the end of the blinded article file after the references, while images must be uploaded as separate files and their legends included at the end of the article file. Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order first cited, and each table must have a brief title.

Letter To The Editor

Abstract Abstract must not be included.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 500 words. Letter to the Editor should be a short, decisive observation and not a preliminary observation needing later validation. No more than four contributors are permitted, and any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed.
References References must not exceed 5. References must follow the journal’s numbered Vancouver-style system. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited as superscript Arabic numerals in square brackets after punctuation, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations when applicable, and list the first six authors followed by et al.
