Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required and must be signed by all contributors. Cover letter must mention previous publications or presentations, the source of funding, conflicts of interest, and state that the manuscript has been read and approved by all authors and represents honest work if not provided elsewhere.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured. Abstract must summarize the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3000 words excluding tables, references, and abstract. Manuscript must include a section describing the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data. Manuscript must include three or more keywords, and any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
References References may number about 90. References must follow the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention and cited in superscript Arabic numerals within square brackets after punctuation marks, with journal titles abbreviated according to Index Medicus style.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded separately. Tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and each table must have a brief title.

Original Articles

Cover Letter A covering letter is required and must be submitted with the title page/first page file. The covering letter must be signed by all contributors and include previous publications or presentations, the source of funding, and conflicts of interest.
Abstract An abstract is required for Original Articles.
Manuscript Original Articles may contain up to 3000 words excluding the abstract, references, and tables. Original Articles must be divided into Abstract, Key-words, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, and Figure legends. The title page file must include word counts for the introduction plus discussion, the abstract page must include three or more keywords, and any use of generative AI must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
References Original Articles should include about 30 references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention and cited as Arabic numerals in superscript within square brackets after punctuation marks, with journal titles abbreviated according to Index Medicus style.
Figures & Tables Tables must be provided at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded as separate files rather than incorporated in the blinded article file. Tables with more than 10 columns and 25 rows are not acceptable.

Case Reports

Manuscript must use the headings Abstract, Key-words, Introduction, Case report, Discussion, Reference, Tables, and Legends in that order. Manuscript must include Key-words, with three or more keywords, and disclose any generative AI or AI-assisted tool used and its purpose in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
References References must not exceed 10. References must be numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned, cited as superscript Arabic numerals in square brackets after punctuation, and journal titles should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus style.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included at the end of the text after the references, figure or image legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded as separate files rather than incorporated in the blinded article file.
