Original Paper

Cover Letter Cover letters are optional. If included, briefly introduce the manuscript and you may suggest 2–3 qualified, independent reviewers by providing their names, institutions, and email addresses.
Title Page Include on the first page: short title without abbreviations, running title, full author names formatted with middle initial and surname, superscript numerals linking authors to complete affiliations, and an asterisk to identify the corresponding author with full contact details. Separate affiliations with semicolons.
Abstract A structured abstract of 200–250 words is required, with the following headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Key Points Provide 3–5 key messages after the Conclusions section: 1–2 “What is known” points and 2–3 “What is new” points summarizing the study’s contribution.
Main Manuscript Headings Follow an IMRaD-style format: Introduction; Materials and Methods (study design, participants, interventions, randomization, analyses); Results; Discussion; Conclusions. Place key messages after the Conclusions.
Reference Format Use ICMJE/Vancouver style. Cite references in-text with superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance and list them consecutively using MEDLINE/PubMed journal abbreviations; list all authors when there are six or fewer, otherwise first six followed by “et al.”.
Figures Do not embed figures in the manuscript. Upload each figure as a separate file via the submission system, provide figure titles in the manuscript, and cite figures sequentially in the text.
Tables Embed tables within the manuscript file using Word’s table editor. Number tables with Roman numerals, include a clear title and any necessary notes, and cite them sequentially in the text.
