Archives of Sexual Behavior

Archives of Sexual Behavior is the official publication of the International Academy of Sex Research and publishes scientific research on sex, gender, and sexuality. It invites contributions from multiple disciplines including anthropology, biology, history, law, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, and sociology, and publishes quantitative and qualitative empirical research, theoretical reviews and essays, clinical case reports, and letters to the editor across a wide range of topical areas in sexuality research.

Research Articles

Cover Letter A copyright transfer statement from the authors or their employers is required.

Abstract An abstract is required as the second page of the manuscript. Abstract should preferably be no longer than 250 words.

Manuscript Manuscript must include a Declarations section placed before the references. Include 4–5 keywords directly below the abstract and include the Declarations headings Funding, Conflicts of interest/Competing interests, Availability of data and material, Code availability, and Authors' contributions, using 'Not applicable' for any irrelevant section.

References References must conform to APA style. References must be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper and cited in the text by name and year in parentheses.

Figures & Tables Figures and tables must each be placed on separate pages at the end of the manuscript after the references, and figure captions must be listed on a separate page. Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals, cited by number in the text, and each figure must have a caption while each table must have a descriptive title.
