It covers clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, including hematology and hemostasis, molecular diagnostics, immunology, analytical toxicology, clinical laboratory pharmacology and endocrinology, along with method development, laboratory organization, automation, quality and safety, harmonization and standardization, reference methods and values. The journal also regularly publishes preanalytical case reports, articles on applied biostatistics, and research integrity topics, while genetic association studies and studies on animal models or cell cultures are outside its scope.

Three issues per year are published on February 15th, June 15th, and October 15th.
