Biological Psychiatry: Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging is an official journal of the Society for Biological Psychiatry and part of the Biological Psychiatry family of journals. This peer-reviewed, rapid-publication, international journal focuses on studies using the tools and constructs of cognitive neuroscience, including the full range of non-invasive neuroimaging and human extra- and intracranial physiological recording methodologies. It publishes both basic and clinical studies, including work incorporating genetic data, pharmacological challenges, and computational modeling approaches, and encourages original research, reviews, and commentaries on topics of current research and interest.

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Main body text must not exceed 4000 words. Main text must be structured as Introduction, Methods and Materials, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include six keywords on the title page, and any use of AI technology in the research or preparation of the paper must be disclosed in the paper with the specific tools used and how they were used.
References References must be numbered and listed in order of appearance, cited in the text with numbers in parentheses, list the first six authors followed by et al. when there are more than seven authors, and use NLM Catalog journal title abbreviations.
Figures & Tables For new submissions, tables and figures may be placed within the manuscript or presented separately at the end, tables may instead be uploaded individually but not both embedded and separate, figure titles and legends must appear in the manuscript file, and each figure must be uploaded as an individual file. Figure and table legends must provide a brief title and legend for each item, multi-part figures must describe each panel, and tables must be supplied in an editable format such as Word or Excel.
