Biomaterials Advances

Biomaterials Advances publishes research at the interface of biomedical sciences and materials engineering, including bioinspired and biomimetic materials, biologically derived materials, active and smart materials, self-assembling and self-healing materials, ceramics, metals, polymers, composites, materials for in vivo sensing and imaging, drug and vaccine delivery materials, and novel approaches for characterizing and modeling materials for medical applications. Manuscripts lacking either a materials science component or biological application are not considered.

Original Research Work

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A concise and factual abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured and able to stand alone.
Manuscript Article must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections, with the abstract excluded from section numbering. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, and highlights consisting of 3 to 5 bullet points must be submitted as a separate editable file, while any generative AI use in manuscript preparation must be declared in a section placed before the references.
References References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets. References must be numbered in the order of appearance and may use any consistent submission style, but must include core bibliographic details and use abbreviated journal names according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Tables must be submitted as editable text and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. All tables and figures must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively in order of appearance, and provided with captions.
