Research Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Research Articles must include a structured abstract. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Advances in knowledge.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3,000 words. Manuscript must include the section headers Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include 3 to 10 keywords, and the abstract must include an Advances in knowledge section of one or two sentences describing the paper’s novelty and contribution to current research in the field.
References References must not exceed 50. References must follow AMA, 11th edition. References must be numbered, use NLM journal abbreviations, list all authors unless there are more than 6, in which case the first 3 authors should be followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Research Articles may include a maximum of 10 figures and 5 tables. Tables must be placed at the end of the main text, and figure titles, legends, and captions must be included within the manuscript file rather than in the image files. All tables must be numbered and cited in the text, supplied in an editable format rather than as images, and all figures must have legends and alt text included in the main manuscript file under the relevant figure legend.
