Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter should be included. Cover letter must describe the significance and novelty of the work, verify the originality of the work, and identify the supplement.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Structured abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion(s).
Manuscript Manuscript is limited to 6000 words including the title page, abstract, text, references, and tables. Manuscript must contain the sections abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Manuscript must include 3-7 keywords, a two-sentence precis, an author contributions statement, and a disclosure of any AI-generated content use in the Methods section if applicable.
References References must be numbered sequentially in the order cited, not alphabetized, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first three followed by et al. for seven or more authors.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, and tables may be included in the manuscript file or submitted as separate editable files. Figures and tables must have legends, tables must have titles and footnotes, and all figures and tables must be cited and numbered consecutively in the text.

Review Articles

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract should be approximately 250 words.
Manuscript Review Articles must be no longer than 8000 words including the title page, abstract, text, tables, and references. Manuscript must include the sections abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Manuscript must include a two-sentence precis for the Table of Contents and 3–7 keywords.
References References must be numbered sequentially in the order cited in the text rather than alphabetized, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first three followed by 'et al.' for seven or more authors.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while the editable manuscript file may include text, figures, and tables or they may be provided as separate files. Figures and tables must have legends, tables must include a title and footnotes, and all figures and tables must be cited and numbered consecutively in the text.
