Original Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must state whether the paper was previously published in any language, including as an abstract, and whether it is currently under consideration elsewhere for publication.
Abstract Structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words or fewer. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion.
Manuscript Manuscript must be limited to 3,000 words excluding references, tables, and abstract. Main body must use the section headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include Study Highlights with the headings "WHAT IS KNOWN" and "WHAT IS NEW HERE," with bullet points of about 15 words or fewer under each heading, and AI tool use must be disclosed in the Materials and Methods or similar section.
References References must follow AMA Manual of Style, 10th Edition. References must include only works cited in the text, be numbered consecutively in order of appearance, and list only the first three authors followed by et al when there are more than three authors.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the manuscript Word file, and tables must be provided in Word format either as separate files or at the end of the main manuscript document. Figure legends must be included in the manuscript text rather than the image files, and each table must have a title.
