Current Developments in Nutrition is a peer-reviewed, open access monthly journal and official publication of the American Society for Nutrition that publishes original research articles, brief communications, methodology and study design reports, commentaries, and reviews across the nutritional sciences, spanning molecular and cellular studies to clinical, fitness, population health, policy, education, animal nutrition, and Indigenous food and nutrition research.

Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be structured and written in complete sentences. Abstract must include the headings Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must include the sections Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments with statement of authors’ contributions to manuscript and data sharing plan, and References. Manuscript must include a Statement of Significance, 5–10 keywords below the abstract, an authors’ contributions statement using all authors’ initials that identifies responsibility for design, writing, and final content, a statement that all authors have read and approved the manuscript, and a Declaration of Generative AI and AI assisted technologies in the writing process placed before the References list.
References References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in text as Arabic numerals in parentheses before punctuation, and journal article references must list all authors if there are 6 or fewer or the first 6 authors followed by 'et al.' if there are more than 6.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included in the manuscript text file following the references, whereas each figure must be uploaded as a separate file and its title and legend included in the manuscript text file. Tables and figures must be cited sequentially in the text, and each table and figure legend must provide enough detail to be understood without referring to the main text.
