Original Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include a brief description of the manuscript’s history with EHP, a separate paragraph titled "What this study adds" of no more than 100 words, and any request for an Open Access fee waiver with motivation.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstracts must not exceed 250 words. A structured abstract is required. The abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, and the Methods section should identify the study population, study years, and location if appropriate.
Manuscript Original Research Articles should be 1500 to 4000 words and are limited to 6 journal pages. Original Research Articles should begin with a short introduction followed by Methods, Results, and Discussion. The manuscript title page must include the manuscript type, title, all authors’ full names and affiliations, corresponding author contact information, and a suggested running head, and the manuscript must disclose AI tool use in the Materials and Methods or similar section.
References References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text, tables, and figures and listed at the end of the main text file.
Figures & Tables The number of tables and figures combined should not exceed 8. Tables must be numbered in order of appearance, each table must have a clear title, and figures should be designed for clarity and simplicity using words and numbers sparingly.

Review Articles

References References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text, tables, and figures and listed at the end of the main text file.
