European Radiology Experimental is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published, address any issues relating to journal policies, declare any potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, and confirm the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, and reports of health care interventions on human participants must also include a Trial registration section with registration number and date, including 'retrospectively registered' when applicable.
Manuscript Main body must not exceed 4000 words. Manuscript should be organized with Methods, Results, and Discussion sections, and the abstract and body must declare study design at the beginning of Methods. Manuscript must include a Declarations section with the specified subheadings, five keywords, and 3 to 5 key points aimed at a general audience with no more than 12 words each.
References References are limited to a maximum of 60. References with 6 authors or fewer must list all authors, references with 7 or more authors must list the first 3 authors followed by 'et al', and journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE.
Figures & Tables A combined maximum of 10 figures and tables is allowed. Figures must be provided as separate files and not embedded in the main text file, while tables must be included in the main manuscript file. Figure and table legends must be listed together after the reference section in the main text file.

Manuscript must accurately describe the methods and results of the systematic search, present Results and Discussion separately, include a Background ending with the review question(s) and a brief PICO-based statement, include a Methods section covering the review process and specified methodological elements, and normally include a review limitations section. Manuscript must include five keywords, 3 to 5 key points of no more than 12 words each, and a Declarations section with the subheadings Ethics approval and consent to participate, Consent for publication, Availability of data and materials, Competing interests, Funding, Authors' contributions, and Acknowledgements, with 'Not applicable' used where a subsection is not relevant.
References References must not exceed 80. References with 6 authors or fewer must list all authors, references with 7 authors or more must list the first 3 authors followed by 'et al', journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and web links must appear as numbered full references including site title, URL, and access date.
Figures & Tables The combined total of figures and tables must not exceed 10. Figures and tables must be provided as separate files and not embedded in the main text file, and figure and table legends must be listed together after the reference section in the main text file. Figures must be numbered in first-mention order, submitted as separate appropriately numbered files with multipart figures as single composite files and captions only in the text, while tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals, include a title, explain all abbreviations, and not be submitted as figures.
