Original Articles

Cover Letter Any writing or editing assistance by a third party or preparation/submission on behalf of the authors by a non-author must be disclosed in the covering letter.
Abstract Original Articles must include an abstract. The abstract must be no more than 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 3,000 words, excluding the abstract, disclosure statements, author contribution statements, funding information, acknowledgments, tables, figure legends, and references. Headings must be clear, logically ordered, and sections clearly defined. The manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract and an Author Contributions heading after the Acknowledgements section, and the title page must include a Statements and Declarations section with all required subheadings.
References References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in matching citations.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include a maximum combined total of 6 figures and tables. Figures, charts, and tables created in Word should be included in the main text, while figures and other files created outside Word should be submitted separately with a placeholder note in the text. Figures must be numbered consecutively in the order cited, and tables must be labeled as tables and include a number and title.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required if writing or editing assistance from a third party was used or if the submission was prepared on behalf of the authors by someone not listed as an author. The cover letter must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance and whether the submission was prepared on behalf of the authors by someone not listed as an author.
Abstract Review Articles must include an abstract. The abstract must be no more than 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured. The abstract should state the subject of the review and summarize the most important points of the review.
Manuscript Review Articles have a 3,000-word limit. Review Articles may use body headings appropriate to the topic in addition to standard headings. The manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract and include an Author Contributions heading and a Statements and Declarations section with required subheadings, using 'Not applicable' where a declaration does not apply.
References References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in each matched citation.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include a maximum combined total of 8 figures and tables. Figures, charts, and tables created in Word should be included in the main text, while figures and other files created outside Word should be submitted separately with a placeholder note in the text.
