Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for submission. The cover letter must explain any change in authorship or author order, include any further explanation for editors about conflicts of interest or funding information, and disclose whether any related manuscripts are under consideration elsewhere.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be less than 250 words. Unstructured.
Manuscript Research Articles are limited to 25 publication units, with 1 publication unit equal to 500 words or 1 display element. The manuscript should be divided into sections with numbered headings using Arabic numerals. A Plain Language Summary is required and must be no longer than 200 words, the manuscript must include key points and up to five index terms, and use of AI tools in writing, image production, or data collection and analysis must be disclosed in the manuscript.
References APA. Reference citations must use name-date format, references must be ordered alphabetically by the first author's last name, and all references cited in the paper must be publicly available before acceptance.
Figures & Tables Figures should be placed near where they are cited in the text, and large tables should be uploaded separately. Figures should have captions, figures should be prepared in JPG, TIFF, EPS, PS, or PDF format, and tables with pictures, color, or embedded objects must be submitted as figures.

Review Articles

Manuscript The manuscript should be divided into numbered sections with descriptive headings and arranged in the order title page, key points, abstract, plain language summary, keywords, text including appendices and equations, acknowledgments, open research section, references, tables, figures, and rich media and multimedia. A Plain Language Summary is required and must be no longer than 200 words, key points must include one to three statements, up to five index terms are allowed, and use of AI tools in writing, image production, or data collection and analysis must be disclosed.
References APA. References must use name-date citations, be listed alphabetically by the first author's last name, and include only works cited in the main text.
Figures & Tables Review Articles should include approximately six figures or tables excluding references and supporting material. Figures should be placed near where they are cited in the text, and large tables should be uploaded separately.
