Genes & Diseases is a journal for molecular and translational medicine that focuses on investigations on the molecular bases and experimental therapeutics of human diseases. Cover Letter
A one-page cover letter is required. Cover letter must include the corresponding author's full postal address, telephone number, and e-mail address, briefly explain the conceptual advance and broad significance of the findings, state that the work is not under consideration by any other primary scientific journals, and confirm that all authors have read and concurred with the manuscript.
Abstract
An abstract is required. Abstract must be unstructured and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript
Manuscript must not exceed 6,000 words excluding abstract, references, figures, and tables. Manuscript must be structured as Abstract, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, Author contributions, Conflict of Interests, Funding, Acknowledgements, Appendix if applicable, and References. Manuscript must include at least five relevant keywords in alphabetical order and the sections Author contributions, Conflict of Interests, Funding, and Acknowledgements.

Manuscript may include a maximum of 80 references. References must be cited using consecutive superscript Arabic numerals in the order of appearance and listed in the same numerical order.
Figures & Tables
Manuscript may include a maximum of 8 tables and figures. Figures must be submitted as separate files and figure captions must be provided separately. Tables must be numbered consecutively in citation order and figures must be numbered according to their sequence in the text.

Reference numerals must appear outside periods and commas and inside colons and semicolons, the reference list must be numbered in order of appearance, DOIs must be added when supplied, and all listed references must be cited in the text, tables, or figures and vice versa.
