Research Submissions

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required for Research Submissions. Abstract must not exceed 450 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objective, Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must be limited to 4,000 words. Manuscript must be arranged in the order abstract, text, references, tables, and figures, and it must include a conclusion. Manuscript must include a 3-sentence Plain Language Summary for a lay audience, and any use of artificial intelligence tools must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References There is no limit on the number of references. References must be cited in the text or tables using superscript numerals in numerical order of first appearance. References must be listed in the order first cited, repeated citations must use the original number, and journal and book references must include the specified bibliographic elements.
Figures & Tables There is no limit on the number of figures or tables, and supplementary tables and figures may be included. Figures must be supplied as separate files with legends provided separately, while tables must be submitted with title and legend and the manuscript order places tables before figures. Figures and tables must be numbered in the order cited in the text and all abbreviations or symbols in figure legends must be explained.
