Review Articles

Abstract Abstract is required for Review Articles. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract does not need to be structured.
Manuscript Manuscript body must be 7,000 words, excluding references, figures, and tables. Review Articles must be classified as Basic Science, Translational, or Clinical. Manuscript must include a brief 40-word summary of the article's main point, three to five keywords, Key Messages after the abstract with the bullets 'What is already known?,' 'What is new here?,' and 'How can this study help patient care?,' no more than one sentence per point and no more than 100 words total, and any AI use disclosure in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References Review Articles may include no more than 100 references. References must follow American Medical Association Manual of Style, 11th edition. References must be cited in text in order of appearance, and when a reference has more than three authors only the first three should be listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include no more than six tables and figures combined. Figures must be submitted as separate files and not embedded within the main text, and tables must not be embedded within the body of the manuscript. Alt text descriptions must be provided for all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs in the main manuscript file directly under the relevant figure legend preceded by 'Alt text:'.

The manuscript must include a 40-word summary, three to five keywords, Key Messages of no more than 100 words using the bullet points 'What is already known?,' 'What is new here?,' and 'How can this study help patient care?,' and an AI disclosure in the Methods or Acknowledgements section if applicable.
References No more than 40 references may be included. References must follow American Medical Association Manual of Style, 11th edition.
