Journal of Affective Disorders is the official journal of the International Society for Affective Disorders. It publishes interdisciplinary papers on affective disorders in the widest sense, including depression, mania, mood spectrum, emotions and personality, anxiety, and stress, and welcomes work spanning neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, genetics, molecular biology, experimental and clinical neurosciences, pharmacology, neuroimmunoendocrinology, and intervention and treatment trials.

Full-Length Research Papers

Abstract Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Full-Length Research Papers may be up to 5000 words excluding references. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. Submission must include 1 to 7 English keywords and a separate editable highlights file containing 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, and if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation a declaration section must be added before the references.
References Reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary, with same-author same-year entries distinguished by letters after the year.
Figures & Tables Full-Length Research Papers may include up to 6 tables and figures in total. Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables are submitted with the manuscript as editable text. Tables must be editable text with captions and consecutive numbering, and figures must be cited in the text, numbered in sequence, and provided with captions.
