Journal of Bone Oncology is a peer-reviewed international open access journal focused on basic, translational, and clinical research related to bone and cancer. It describes itself as the first journal dedicated to cancer induced bone diseases and welcomes original research articles, review articles, editorials, and opinion pieces, with case reports considered only in exceptional circumstances when accompanied by a comprehensive review of the subject.

Original Research Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required for Original Research Articles. Structured abstract must be no more than 300 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must be 2,000–5,000 words excluding the abstract, figure legends, and references. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. Submission must include 3 to 5 highlights bullet points of no more than 85 characters each, 1 to 7 English keywords, a graphical abstract, and if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation a declaration section before the references.
References Reference list must contain 30–60 references. References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed in the order of first appearance.
Figures & Tables Original Research Articles may include up to 8 figures and/or tables. Tables must be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article, while figures must be supplied as separate files. Tables must be editable text with captions and figures must each be provided as separate files with captions, and any generative AI-created image must be disclosed in the caption.
