Original Research Articles

Abstract A structured summary is required for Original Research Articles. The structured summary must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 4000 words excluding the Summary and References, and each figure and/or table counts as 200 words toward the total. Original Research Articles must be organized as Structured summary, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest statement, Funding statement, and References. The manuscript must include a competing interests section and, if generative AI or AI-assisted writing tools were used, a section titled 'Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process' before the References list.
References References must be formatted in NLM style. Citations must appear as numbers in square brackets with the reference list numbered in order of appearance, journal titles abbreviated appropriately, and references with more than six authors listing the first six followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded separately from the main manuscript, with legends listed together in the final section of the manuscript, and each table placed on a separate sheet after the references. Figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals in order of first mention, tables numbered consecutively in Roman numerals, tables submitted as editable text rather than images, and captions provided separately.
