BJA Education, formerly Continuing Education in Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain, is a joint venture of the British Journal of Anaesthesia and The Royal College of Anaesthetists in the UK. It is also the official journal of The Faculty of Pain Medicine, The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland, The Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.

BJA Education is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Invited Submission

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract requirements are not specified.
Manuscript Articles must not exceed 4000 words excluding references, key points, learning objectives, and MCQs. The manuscript must include a title page, biography, learning objectives, key points, manuscript text with references, tables with legends, and legends to figures, with no more than three heading levels used. The manuscript must include 3–5 MeSH keywords, up to five learning objectives, 3–5 key points, an acknowledgements section before the references, and a declaration of AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process before the references if applicable.
References Articles may cite a maximum of 45 references. References must use the format adopted by the British Journal of Anaesthesia. References must be numbered sequentially at first citation, cited in superscript at the end of the sentence after the full stop, and list more than six authors as three authors followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Each article must include at least 2 figures, images or tables. Tables must appear in the main manuscript with their legends, while figures and other illustrations must be submitted as separate files and their captions or legends provided in the main document. Tables must be formatted simply without vertical rules or shading, and each figure or illustration must be numbered in sequence and accompanied by a legend.
