Alcohol is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes multidisciplinary biomedical research on the actions and effects of alcohol on the nervous system and other organ systems, with emphasis on the causes and consequences of alcohol abuse and alcoholism, including diagnosis, etiology, treatment, prevention, and related molecular, animal, human, and clinical studies. The journal publishes 9 issues per year.

Abstract Abstract is required and must be concise, factual, and no longer than 250 words. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured and able to stand alone while briefly stating the purpose of the research, principal results, and major conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. Provide 1 to 7 English keywords, include article highlights consisting of 3 to 5 bullet points, and add a declaration section before the references if generative AI tools were used in manuscript preparation.
References References must be cited in the text by number within square brackets in the order they appear. References must be numbered in order of appearance and include author names, journal or book titles, chapter or article titles, year, and volume numbers, article numbers, or pagination where applicable.
