Original Research

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Original Research must include a structured abstract of 300 words. Abstract must be 300 words. Abstract must be structured in four labeled paragraphs. Abstract headings must be Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Basic Original Research is limited to 4500 words and Clinical Original Research is limited to 3500 words for the main text including Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include Title Page, Structured Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Disclosures, Funding, Acknowledgments, Author Contributions, Data Sharing Statement, References, cited Tables with legends, and Figure legends in the manuscript text file. Manuscript must include 3 key points, and each key point must be a complete sentence in the past tense of no more than 140 characters including spaces.
References Original Research has no reference limit. References must follow AMA style. If a reference has more than 6 authors, list the first 3 authors followed by "et al.".
Figures & Tables Original Research may include up to 6 figures and up to 6 tables. Figures of sufficient quality for peer review may be included in the main manuscript file for initial submission, while figure legends must be included in the manuscript text file and figures provided as individual figure files.
