Med is a monthly clinical and translational research journal published by Cell Press. It publishes original research, Reviews, and Perspective articles across the translational and clinical continuum, including clinical studies, translational research, biotechnology and engineering advances with clinical impact, and medical resources spanning areas such as cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, immunology, infectious diseases, neurology, genetics, and public health.

Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter should explain what was previously known, the conceptual advance, the significance and potential impact of the work, and whether the paper is part of a consortium.
Abstract A summary or abstract is required. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Findings, Conclusions, and Funding.
Manuscript Main document must contain no more than 7,000 words, including all sections and the title page but excluding STAR Methods, supplemental video and Excel table legends, and references. Manuscript must include title, author list and affiliations, Lead Contact footnote, corresponding author email addresses, Summary, Introduction, Results, Discussion, Resource Availability, Acknowledgments, Author Contributions, Declaration of Interests, main figure titles and legends, main tables and legends, STAR Methods text, supplemental video, data, and Excel table titles and legends, and References, with a limitations of the study subsection within the Discussion. Manuscript must include 3 to 4 Highlights, an eTOC blurb, a 120-word Context and Significance paragraph, an Author Contributions section using author initials, a Declaration of Interests section, and if applicable a Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process section after Declaration of Interests.
References Articles should include around 120 references. References must use numbered superscript citations in Vancouver-style sequence. References must be numbered consecutively by first citation, may use et al. only after 10 author names, and article references must include authors, year, title, journal abbreviation, volume, page range, and DOI.
Figures & Tables Articles should contain no more than 7 figures and/or tables, and supplemental information items may total no more than twice the combined number of main-text figures and tables with supplemental figures no more than that combined number. Main figures must be uploaded individually as separate files, while figure titles and legends and main-text tables must appear at the end of the manuscript. Each figure must include all panels on a single page with a descriptive title, micrographs must include scale bars, and tables must be editable Word tables numbered Table 1, Table 2, and so on without panel subdivisions.
