Behaviour Research and Therapy is an international multi-disciplinary journal focused on an experimental psychopathology approach to understanding emotional and behavioral disorders and their prevention and treatment using cognitive, behavioral, and psychophysiological, including neural, methods and models. It publishes laboratory-based experimental studies, clinically severe sample studies, theoretical reviews of mechanisms contributing to psychopathology, tests of novel mechanistically focused psychological interventions, and innovations in dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices, including work in behavioural medicine such as chronic pain.

Theoretical Reviews

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured and able to stand alone while briefly stating the purpose of the research, principal results, and major conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections covering all essential elements using headings. The submission must include 1 to 7 English keywords, article highlights as a separate editable file with 3 to 5 bullet points, and a separate AI declaration statement in the manuscript if AI tools were used for manuscript preparation.
References Citations in the text must follow American Psychological Association style. The reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically, with same-author same-year entries distinguished by letters after the year.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables are submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered in order of appearance, and include captions, and tables must include any notes below the table body.
