Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must verify that each author approves the submitted version of the manuscript.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract should be about 300 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections and include essential elements such as Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, Artwork, and Tables with Captions. The manuscript must include a summary declaration of interest statement and, if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation, a declaration statement in a new section before the references list.
References References may be in any consistent style or format at submission, journal names should be abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations, and every reference listed must be cited in the text and vice versa.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables in the single manuscript file must be placed next to the relevant text with the corresponding caption directly below the figure or table. Each illustration must have a caption explaining all symbols and abbreviations used, and tables must be submitted as editable text rather than as images.

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An unstructured abstract is required for Review Articles. The abstract must not exceed 300 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The main body text, excluding abstract, legends, and references, must not exceed 5,000 words. Any use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be declared at submission and stated in a section placed before the references, and the manuscript must include at least two and up to five unique subject terms.
References Review Articles may include no more than 150 references. References may be submitted in any consistent style or format.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include a maximum of 5 tables and/or figures. Figures and tables included in the manuscript file must be placed next to the relevant text with the corresponding caption directly below. Tables must be submitted as editable text rather than images, and each figure must have a caption explaining all symbols and abbreviations used.
