The Pharmacogenomics Journal accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must provide the corresponding author's affiliation and contact information, briefly explain the importance of the work and its suitability for the journal's diverse readership, confirm originality, and include a Competing Interests statement.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be unstructured and must not exceed 150 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Main body text excluding the abstract, tables/figures, and references must not exceed 3,500 words. Manuscript should include Materials/Subjects and Methods, Results, Discussion, and a final Discussion paragraph stating the main conclusions and future research directions. Manuscript must include a Data Availability Statement and any use of an LLM must be documented in the Methods section or another suitable section if Methods is unavailable.
References Article must include no more than 80 references. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be cited in the text as numbered citations starting at 1 and listed in numerical order, with up to six authors listed in full and additional authors abbreviated as et al.
Figures & Tables Article must include no more than 8 tables or figures. Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the text, while each table must be uploaded as a separate editable file. Tables must be editable and sequentially labelled with titles or captions, and figure legends must be brief, specific, and provided on a separate manuscript page after the References section.

Review Article

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be unstructured and must not exceed 150 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Main body text, excluding abstract, tables/figures, and references, must not exceed 4,000 words. The manuscript must include Materials/Subjects and Methods and a Discussion whose final paragraph states the main conclusion or conclusions and indicates directions for future research. Authors must include an author contributions statement, a Competing Interests statement before the References section under 'Competing Interests', and documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or another suitable part of the manuscript if no Methods section is available.
References The manuscript must include no more than 100 references. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be numbered in order of citation, listed in numerical order, list all authors if there are up to six and the first six followed by et al. if there are more than six, and include first and last page numbers.
Figures & Tables Figures must not be embedded in the text and must be uploaded as separate files, while each table must be uploaded as a separate editable file. Tables must be editable, titled, sequentially labelled, and cited in order in the text, and figure legends must be brief, specific, and placed on a separate manuscript page after the References section.

Manuscript Main body text, excluding tables or figures and references, must not exceed 900 words. Manuscript must begin with a two- or three-sentence opening paragraph that conveys the article's message without specialized terminology. Any use of an LLM must be documented in a suitable part of the manuscript because a Methods section may not be available.
References No more than 10 references are allowed. References must follow Vancouver format. In-text citations must be numbered starting at 1 and the reference list must be in numerical order of citation, listing all authors up to six and the first six followed by et al. when there are more than six authors.
Figures & Tables No more than 1 table or figure is allowed. Figures must not be embedded in the text and must be uploaded as separate files, and each table must be uploaded separately. Tables must be editable and each figure and table must be labeled sequentially, cited in order in the text, and accompanied by a caption or legend.
