Cover Letter A cover letter must be included with the submission.
Abstract An abstract is required for Original Articles. The abstract must be 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The structured abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript body must be 3000 words. The manuscript must begin with a structured abstract followed by the manuscript body, references, and legends.
References References must follow American Medical Association style. References must be numbered and cited in numerical order in the text.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include up to 20 figure pieces and tables combined. Figures and tables must not be embedded within the manuscript text document and must be uploaded separately. Each individual image or panel of a multi-panel figure counts as one figure piece.
