Original Communications

Cover Letter A cover letter is required as a separate file. The cover letter must state the manuscript category, disclose conflicts of interest and outside or industry support, and confirm that all authors approved the final manuscript and fulfill COPE authorship requirements.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be less than 250 words.
Manuscript Main text must be less than 3500 words excluding the abstract, tables, figures, and references. The manuscript must include a two-sentence article summary of less than 60 words, 1 to 7 English keywords, a COI/Disclosures statement before the references, and an AI-use declaration before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References No more than 50 references are allowed. References must follow Vancouver style. References must be cited in the text with superscript numbers and listed in the reference list in order of first mention.
Figures & Tables No more than seven figures and tables combined are allowed. Figures must be uploaded as separate files, while tables must be provided as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered in order of appearance, and accompanied by captions or legends.

References Research Letters may include a maximum of 5 references. References must follow Vancouver style. References must be cited by superscript numbers in the text and listed in numbered order of first mention, including only works cited in the text.
Figures & Tables Research Letters may contain a total of no more than 2 tables or figures. Figures must be uploaded as separate files, while tables are submitted within the manuscript as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered in order of appearance, and include captions, with figure legends placed at the end of the references section.
