Regular Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required only when disclosing overlapping data use, expedited review requests, or any generative AI use in the submitted work. The cover letter must disclose overlapping data use with copies or links and an explanation of differences, explain any expedited review request, and fully identify any generative AI tool used and its relevant output.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract is usually within 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use complete sentences under the headings Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 3,000 words. After the introductory paragraphs, the manuscript must include the major sections Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions, and the last paragraph of the introduction must state the purpose of the research. The manuscript must include 3 to 4 bullet-point highlights and a plain language summary for Kudos, and any generative AI use must be fully identified in the submitted work.
References References should generally be limited to 50. References must use a numbered citation system rather than name-and-date style. References must be arranged and numbered in order of citation, with all authors through the third named and any additional authors listed as et al.
Figures & Tables No more than 5 displayed items may be included. Tables must appear at the end of the uploaded file after references and figure captions and must not be embedded in the main text or submitted separately, and figures should be uploaded at the end of the Main Body file if possible. Figure titles and footnotes must appear in the manuscript after references and before any tables, and all figures must include alternative text.
