Psychotherapy Research is the official journal of the Society for Psychotherapy Research and publishes original research on all aspects of psychotherapy, including outcomes, processes, practitioner education, and service delivery. It is a pan-discipline, pan-theoretical journal aimed at advancing the scientific quality and social relevance of psychotherapy research and fostering the use of research findings in practice, education, and policy.

Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required, and manuscripts exceeding 35 pages must include a rationale in the cover letter justifying the article length. Manuscripts exceeding 35 pages must include a rationale in the cover letter justifying the article length.
Abstract A 200-word structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 200 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Objective, Method, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 35 pages in APA 7 style format including tables, references, figure and table captions, and endnotes. Main text must be structured as Clinical or Methodological Significance of this Article, Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, with no Introduction heading shown in the manuscript. Manuscript must include a separate 2–3 sentence summary labeled "Clinical or Methodological Significance of this Article" after the abstract and keywords.
References References must follow APA 7 style. Reference entries must appear under the heading "References," include all cited works, and be ordered alphabetically by first-author surname.
Figures & Tables Figures, tables, and their captions must be supplied in separate files rather than embedded in the manuscript. An optional graphical abstract may be submitted as a separate .jpg, .png, or .tiff file labeled GraphicalAbstract1.
