Schizophrenia Research: Cognition is an open access companion journal to Schizophrenia Research that publishes material on all aspects of cognition in schizophrenia, including clinical neuropsychology, neurocognition, social cognition, functional capacity, cognitive, affective, and social neuroscience, and everyday outcomes related to cognition. Areas of interest include the impact of cognition on outcome, descriptive characteristics, genetic influences, pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments, neuroimaging correlates, cognition in conditions related to schizophrenia, and cognitive functioning as a marker of vulnerability in at-risk populations.

Research Papers

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required for Research Papers. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be semi-structured with no titles or references.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 5,000 words. Manuscript must use the sections Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords and a Generative AI declaration in a new section before the references if AI tools were used in manuscript preparation.
References References must use numbered citations in square brackets. References must be numbered in the order they appear in the article, every cited reference must appear in the reference list and vice versa, and journal names must be abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate files, while tables must be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article. Tables must be editable text rather than images and must include captions, and all artwork must have captions.
