Thoracic Cancer is an oncology journal that facilitates international collaboration of novel works on basic, translational and applied clinical research in lung, esophageal, mediastinal and breast cancer. Its content spans prevention, general thoracic surgery, medical oncology, radiology, radiation medicine, pathology, and translational studies in thoracic cancer, and it welcomes submissions on prevention, treatment, and research relevant to the Asia Pacific region.

Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter should be included with the submission. The cover letter must state that all authors contributed significantly, their contributions are described, and all authors agree with the manuscript content.
Abstract An abstract is required for Original Articles. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured using subheadings. The abstract must state the main problem, methods, results, and conclusions.
Manuscript Original Articles must not exceed 4000 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. The manuscript must use the section headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. The main text must include Key points and three to five MeSH key words, and it must also include Disclosure and Author Contribution sections.
References Original Articles have no reference limit. References must follow the Vancouver style. References must be cited as superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first three followed by et al. for seven or more authors.
Figures & Tables Original Articles have no figure or table limit, although 8 figures should be sufficient. Figures and supplementary material must be supplied as separate files, while tables are included in the manuscript on separate pages. Figures and tables must have legends and be numbered consecutively in the text.

Abstract Reviews must include an abstract. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured without subheadings.
Manuscript Reviews must not exceed 5000 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. The main text file must be presented in the order Title, Abstract, Key points, Key words, Text, Acknowledgments, Disclosure, References, Tables, and Figure legends. The manuscript must include Key points, three to five MeSH key words in alphabetical order, a disclosure statement, and an Author Contribution section using CRediT.
References Reviews have no reference limit. References must use the Vancouver system. References must be cited as superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first three followed by et al. for seven or more authors.
Figures & Tables Reviews must include at least one image or figure. Figures and supplementary material must be supplied as separate files, while tables appear in the main text file order before figure legends. Figures and tables must have legends.

Case Image

Abstract Abstract is not required for Case Image submissions.
Manuscript Case Image submissions must not exceed 350 words excluding references, tables, and figures. Case Image submissions must include a brief one-paragraph description of relevant information.
References Case Image submissions must not include more than 5 references. References must use the Vancouver system. References must be cited in the text as superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, with up to six authors listed in full and seven or more listed as the first three followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Case Image submissions must not include more than 2 still images and not more than 2 videos. Figures must be supplied as separate files. Figures and tables must have legends.

Manuscript Letters To The Editor must not exceed 500 words. Letters To The Editor must offer perspective on content published in Thoracic Cancer and reference the original source.
References Letters To The Editor must not include more than 4 references. References must follow the Vancouver style. References must be cited with superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, list all authors if there are six or fewer, and list the first three authors followed by et al. if there are seven or more.
Figures & Tables Letters To The Editor must not include more than 1 figure or table. Figures must be supplied as separate files. Figures and tables must have legends.

Abstract A 250-word abstract is required for Case Reports. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured and without subheadings. No abstract headings are required because the abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Case Reports must not exceed 1000 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. Case Reports must be arranged as Introduction, Case Report, and Discussion. The main text must include Key points, three to five MeSH key words in alphabetical order, a disclosure statement, and an Author Contribution section using CRediT.
References Case Reports must not include more than 20 references. References must use the Vancouver system. References must be cited as superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first three followed by et al. for seven or more.
Figures & Tables Case Reports must not include more than 4 figures or tables. Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables and figure legends must appear in the manuscript after the references. Figures and tables must have legends and be cited consecutively in the text.
