Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required with the submission. The cover letter must include the full author names and affiliations, explain the paper’s significance and fit to the journal, and describe waived voucher specimen deposition for rare, threatened, or endangered plant species when applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract should be about 200 words maximum. Abstract must be a single paragraph in a structured style without headings.
Manuscript Article manuscripts must follow a research article structure with front matter of Title, Author list, Affiliations, Abstract, and Keywords; main sections of Introduction, Results, Discussion, Conclusions optional, Materials and Methods, and Patents; and back matter of Supplementary Materials, Author Contributions, Funding, Data Availability Statement, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, and References. The manuscript must include 3 to 10 keywords, a short paragraph of individual author contributions for multi-author research articles, and disclosure of generative AI use in the manuscript with details in the Materials and Methods section or another suitable section if no Methods section is available.
References References must be numbered in order of appearance, cited in square brackets before punctuation, listed individually at the end of the manuscript, and include the full title.
Figures & Tables Figures, schemes, and tables must be inserted into the main text close to their first citation. All figures, schemes, and tables must be numbered in order of appearance and include a short explanatory title and caption.

References References may be in any consistent style at initial submission, but they must be numbered in order of appearance and listed individually at the end of the manuscript with full titles.
Figures & Tables Figures, schemes, and tables must be inserted into the main text close to their first citation, and the PRISMA flow diagram should be included in the main text.
