Abstract Abstract is required and must be 250 words. Abstract must be 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 4,000 words, excluding the title page, abstract or introduction, references, acknowledgements, tables, and figures. Manuscript must be organized in this order: Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Study Highlights, Graphical Abstracts, Acknowledgements, Author Contributions, References, Figure Legends, and Supplementary Information Titles. Manuscript must include keywords on the title page, an Author Contributions section, AI-use disclosure in the acknowledgements or methods if applicable, and a Study Highlights section after the Discussion that answers four specified questions in under 150 words excluding the questions.
References References must be listed in the order cited, include only published works or manuscripts in press, give all authors up to 6 and otherwise the first 3 followed by et al., and include article titles.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be uploaded separately from the manuscript text, with figure legends placed after the References section in the manuscript. Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively in the order first cited, each figure must be provided as an individual file, composite figures should be preassembled, each table must have a brief title, and multipart tables are not allowed.
