Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must disclose any use of AI and include copies of related or similar works with a concise explanation of how the submitted manuscript differs from them.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstract must be unstructured in a single paragraph with no headings.
Manuscript Manuscripts reporting quantitative or fixed design studies must not exceed 6,000 words, while qualitative, mixed method, or flexible design studies must not exceed 7,000 words, excluding tables, figures or diagrams, and references. Original Articles generally follow the sections Title page, Abstract, Key Messages, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References. Manuscript must include 3–4 key messages and disclose any use of AI in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References References must follow the Author-Date system. Reference list must be in alphabetical order and include the full title of the paper or chapter and the journal or book.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must not be placed within the text and must be provided in separate files. All figures must be numbered and accompanied by legends, and all tables must be cited within the text and accompanied by a title.

Review Articles

Review Articles generally follow the sections Abstract, Key Messages, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References, and review methods must be described as clearly and replicably as possible. Manuscript must include 3–4 key messages, a reflexivity statement, disclosure of any AI use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, and an explanation of why a systematic review was not feasible or desirable if the review is not systematic.
References References must follow the Author-Date system. Reference list must be in alphabetical order and include the full title of both the paper or chapter and the journal or book.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must not be placed within the text and must be provided in separate files. All figures must be numbered and accompanied by a legend, and all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs must have alt text included in the main manuscript file under the relevant figure legend.
