Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology publishes peer-reviewed studies in the translational and clinical human health sciences of liver diseases. It publishes original research, review articles, editorials, correspondence, and invited commentaries, and covers topics including liver disease mechanisms, novel techniques in research and management of liver diseases, epidemiological and environmental factors, immune system function in liver diseases, hepatitis, cirrhosis, genetic and metabolic liver diseases, hepatobiliary diseases, liver cancer, drug metabolism, and biliary disease. The journal is indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded, PubMed, and Scopus and is published by Xia & He Publishing Inc. in association with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must briefly outline current knowledge in the research area, identify the key gaps addressed by the study, highlight the novel contributions and conceptual advancements of the findings, and emphasize the significance of the work to a broad audience.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background and objective(s), Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 5000 words. Manuscript must be organized as Title page, structured Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Declarations, References, Tables, Figures Legends/Figures, and Supplementary materials if any. Manuscript should include 6 to 12 keywords, must state in the Methods section which reporting guideline was applied, and must submit the corresponding reporting guideline checklist with the manuscript.
References Manuscript must include no more than 50 references. References must follow the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and NLM style. References must be numbered consecutively in the order of first appearance using superscript Arabic numerals.
Figures & Tables Manuscript must include no more than 8 figures and tables combined. Tables must be included in the manuscript file rather than submitted as separate files, and figure legends must be placed on a separate page in the manuscript. Figure panels must be labeled with uppercase letters such as A, B, and C.

Abstract must include what is unique about the case and its contribution to the literature, the main symptoms or clinical findings, the main diagnoses, interventions and outcomes, and the main take-away lesson(s) as the conclusion.

Manuscript should include one or two introductory paragraphs on why the case is unique, de-identified case presentation details with a timeline, diagnostic assessment, therapeutic interventions, outcomes and follow-up, a scientific discussion, a one-paragraph conclusion, and a one- to two-paragraph patient perspective.
