Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required if AI-assisted technologies were used or if permission is needed for material taken from other publications. The cover letter must describe any use of AI-assisted technologies and include copyright permission details for reused material, and authors may also suggest 2–3 reviewers.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must be 3000–5500 words excluding references, tables, and figures. Manuscript must be subdivided into Introduction, Materials (Patients) and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Manuscript must include a statement that all authors read and approved the final version, Notes sections for conflicts of interest, funding, and authors’ contributions, and a separate Data availability subheading at the end of Materials and Methods when reporting original research data.
References References must not exceed 50. References must follow the standard format approved by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. References must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in order of citation, cited in the text as superscript Arabic numerals, and include only sources cited in the text.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included in the text file, while figures must be submitted as separate files and their titles repeated in the text file. Tables must be numbered in Roman numerals with titles, and figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals with titles and cited sequentially in the text.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required because AI-assisted technology use must be described there if applicable and copyright permission information for reused material must be included there when relevant. Cover letter must describe any AI-assisted technologies used if applicable, may include 2–3 suggested reviewers with names, institutions, and email addresses, and must include copyright permission details for reused material when relevant.
Abstract Review Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be 200–250 words. Abstract must be structured for systematic reviews and meta-analyses and otherwise no abstract structure is explicitly stated for Review Articles. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses must use the headings introduction, evidence acquisition, evidence synthesis, and conclusions.
Manuscript Review Articles must be 6000–12000 words excluding references, tables, and figures. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses must be subdivided into introduction, evidence acquisition, evidence synthesis, and conclusions. Manuscript must include key words, an Authors' contribution section, a Conflicts of interest section, a Funding section, the statement “All authors read and approved the final version of the manuscript,” and disclosure of AI-assisted technology use in the appropriate section if applicable.
References Review Articles may include no more than 100 references. References must follow the standard format approved by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. References must include only cited sources and must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in citation order, with superscript Arabic numerals used in the text.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included in the text file, while figures must be submitted as separate files and their titles repeated in the text file. Tables must be numbered in Roman numerals with titles and figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals with titles.

Letters To The Editor
