Journal of Family Nursing accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must indicate why the manuscript is suitable for publication and must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or any non-author submitting on behalf of the authors.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must concisely state the purpose of the research, major findings, and conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript should be 15–25 double-spaced pages excluding references and tables. Manuscript must include clearly defined sections with logically ordered heading levels and a structured abstract placed between the title and main body. Manuscript must include 4–5 keywords after the abstract and disclose any AI usage in the Acknowledgements or Methodology section when required.
References References must follow APA 7th edition style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in both places.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures must be placed after the references or uploaded as separate files, while figures and tables created in Word should be included in the main text and files created outside Word should be submitted separately. Tables must be editable text rather than images and figures must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text.
